These may be a game changer for target shooters. They remind me of the Rocky Mountain bullets....Aluminium tips. Hopefully they have worked out how to keep those tips in.....

Hopefully they are able to be as consistent as they strive to be. May have to try their 6mm 110 grain A Tip Match bullet soon.

That’s exactly what I was thinking as soon as I seen them.

250gn 308 !!!

We are approaching the point where short actions are only for field use.

308 family will need long actions. 06 family and the 2.5" cased magnums will need long actions and Wyatts box.

And then there is the twist rate. Rifling will be looking like corkscrews

Where will it end ? Actually it won't end, but it is getting even more interesting. :D

Maybe a 308 Ackley improved to give the 250gr a bit more punch 🥊

Having a tip of a different metal to the jacket is hardly new - RWS H Mantel coming to mind.
Peregrine also do similar with a metal plug in the hollow point of their monometals. Neither are cheap.
I’m keen to see what price per 100 on these specialist bullets. They appear to options for 6,5CM shooters (or am I just oblivious to how heavy you can go in that case  ) and those with the likes of a .300 Norma etc = far to expensive to make for .30’06 shooters to be inclined to buy them

Grafs.com has them listed at $74.99 to $79.99 for 100 depending on caliber, but "out of stock."

Noticed that Hornady have produced a seating stem to compliment their custom dies for the A-tip. I am assuming that most dies that handle VLD style bullets will be able to seat these adequately?

I have about 70 of the original aluminium tipped .284 162gr a-max. The aluminium tip is a lot bigger than the latest release. I haven't used them much as I didn't think I would be able to get enough to make it worthwhile doing the load development.

One local online store known for 'taking orders' is advertising the projectiles for $129 AU per 100 (6mm and 6.5) and $139AU for 30 cal.
