And yes the 9.3 is too boring as everyone got 9.3 here in DK and some believe they can shoot elephants with no problems at all
when angola and moçambique were portuguese colonies, my grandfather starts to shoot elephants for ivory with an army 8mm mauser 98 (and many guys do the same with 303 lee enfield), because is the only gun he has as a duty gun. of course he shoots far, to hearth or lungs, in a protected position, because it was not gun enough to stop a charge.
after that he bought a 9.3x62 mauser 98 bolt, and he took several elephants and cape buffalos and he said he stopped some charges of both with it and some custom made solid copper bullets done by a local center lathe with a commercial copper round bar. some years after he finally bought a 375 HH.
unfortunately he losts all guns in 1975 independance process, and never more was hunter till he dies.
