Reticle 43 is an option for the 2.8-20 now as previous only the 4.8-35 had it

Looks to reaffirm Swarovski's decision to not go above 30mm with their Z8i line.

Personally, I like the looks of a 30mm tube better (even in a railed scope which is usually what I purchase), however, I bet the reason Zeiss did it is for weight. It'll be interesting to see how these new V8 scopes compare weight-wise with the old ones.

I wonder if it'll effect the elevation and windage ranges compared to the older V8 models.

Bit late to the party did not see people commentong on here , the only thing that has changed is that the eye relief is not 95 but 92 with the 30mm tube everything else seems to be the same.

Quite amazed that both elevation and windage stayed the same but still prefer my 36mm V8. If one needs more elsvation just buy the innomount 20 MOA mount and you got more clicks.

Weight wise did not go down that much buthas some saving.

My railed v8 2.8-20 is 850g and new 30mm version is 830g

I am glad I picked up a 1-8x30 for my BD14 when I did. 30mm lens (36mm tube) is as small as I like.

I love Zeiss, I wish they offered the same military pro-deal as Leica.

I also wish I could easily get railed Leicas in America through that same pro deal.

They probably pushed technology to make the new V8 better.

No one is really allowed to downgrade anymore.

A Leupold LPS from 2000 was a 90% solution to a Swarovski of the day, and represented a huge improvement over a VX-II.

A 30mm VX-III from 2022 is like looking through a 30mm Swarovski from 1999 if not better.

Modern 30mm VX-5's are optically superior to a LPS by a lot.

A modern Mark 5 represents an improvement optically in many ways over the Mark 8. The Mark 8 is quite a bit beefier, but it is designed to be a military optic.

I really lusted after one of the Zeiss or Hendsolt 34mm 6-24x72's for a long time. Sure they are nice, but jeeze louize they are kind of dated now.

Just got a V8 in Cologne. The only difference I can see is a svelte appearance, and a little lighter. Superb optic.
