Powder for 308-3006
Is there any benefit, using different powder for 308 and 3006, or do you use the same for both
Have to make some 3006 for a freind, and would be easy, just to use same as I use for 308

Norma 203-b would work for both calibers according to Norma reloading data.
203-B will be the slowest powder in 308 and fastest powder for 30-06.

There are several powders that work in both however, the powders that work best are different for each. IMR4350 is good for both.

Depends a bit on bullet weights.
Using 150s in both, the same powder is more likely to work.

I use 2209 for the 3006 and 2206H for the 308. You could use 2208 for both and 2206H for both.
2208 is optimal for 308 150gr
2209 is optimal for 3006 180gr

They are enough different that a powder that worked for both would be a compromise and there is no point in that.

Due to powder scarcity I wound up with a jug of Big Game for my 22in 30-06 Sauer 202 barrel in my Mod 200. I loaded 168gr amax and found a nide where I put 5x in .26in at 3070fps avg. I tried H4350 and didnt get these results.

I use BR8208 in the 308win or AR2206H but for 270win or 30-06 I love RE17.
There's definitely an advantage in using different powders in the 2 cases in my book.

I'm soft and I don't care.
