I don’t think the scope selection should be based upon caliber, but rather, intended use. What you described as a use case is short to medium range big game.
My personal favorite scope for this use, be it small or large caliber is the superb Swarovski, Z8, 1.6-13.3X42 SR mount with IF reticle.
With this scope you can use it comfortably fro point blank to 400+ yards on moving game,

I have two of them and Mr. Robert is correct. Best all around for 400 to 30 yards….

I went ahead and ordered the Leupold 2-12x42. The Swaro's are still tempting to me, but I'd rather have the difference in funds to spend on another animal on the hunt. Maybe down the road I'll end up changing it out. I'm happy with the VX-6HD setup I have for my 30-06 barrel so having same scope family on the 375 will make it easier switching between them

Nicely balanced magnification range there, it should be great for up close and for normal hunting ranges, especially on large game.
I'm soft and I don't care.

I just put a Swarovski Z8 1-8 x 24 on mine. I have lots of 1.5-6 x42 scopes on all of my hunting rifles and have hunted with them out to 700 yards over nearly 40 years, they have worked well for deer sized and bigger game.
