Beef jerky a la Olsen

Post by Olsen »

When I was in Africa, I loved the Biltong they had, and I like Beef Jerky, so why not make it home

Bought a dehydrator and first try was a huge success, its great

Next portion is already in marinade

Looks good. I cut mine too thin initially. Now I cut it as thick about 2cm.

I make mine in the oven, you hang strip's on the racks, set the oven on the minimum heat and leave the door wedged open about an inch.
Jerky isn't just a good snack it's handy to cook with if you want to make a meal out hunting, bit of rice or pasta, dried veggies and flavouring your choice and your set.
I'm soft and I don't care.

I like biltong more than American jerky. I do not like the sugar in most American jerky
