New mutt

Post by Vaughan »

Picked up a new pup last Friday. My old dog went to the happy hunting grounds last April and the young fellow has been lonely since - we thought... We turned up with this young girl and after his initial excitment, which lasted about 24hrs, he has started to give clear signs that he thinks we should take her back :laughing-rolling:

She is totally wired and a real piece of work when informed that she needs to behave. Just what you want in a young GWP. I suspect she is going to be a winner!

Sorry to hear of your loss and glad to hear of your new GWP. We do get attached to our four legged partners.

Thank you. Yes, we do get attached. I spent a lot of days with the old fellow up on the mountain and along the river. Good memories.

Same here, we had to put our dog down mid last year. We just happened to be in the right place at the right time mid November last year and we picked up the new family member.

Yes GSP and one of eight. It’s a mixed bag of colors. Mum was liver with a touch of white and dad was black with a touch of white.

Beautiful dogs , both of them. There is nothing like living and hunting with a good gun dog.

Hold on tight, you are both in for a fun trip….

That was a mixed bag. The wife had been hoping for a black and white bitch. She got the last one and she was dark liver...

We have a fly-in trip book in the mountains this autumn in the hopes of finding some willow grouse. My 4 y.o. GWP needs a proper hunting season to get things fixed, we have had such poor bird numbers the last 2 years where I normally hunt. Hopefully the young girl will be up for some days out, she will be 9 months old, so enough for light days. We just have to get her in hand by then....
