The ibex hunt was over so we made our way back down out of the mountains to Kohvd. After a well needed shower, a good dinner, cold beers and a good nights rest we got on our flight back to Ulaanbaatar. I had 4 days before my flight home and didn’t want to spend that much time in the city so my outfitter arranged for me to hunt gazelle in an area that was a 3 hour drive north of Ulaanbaatar. Hunting the gazelle reminded me of hunting pronghorn out In Wyoming or Montana.

After the Gazelle hunt it was back to Ulaanbaatar to prepare for the 32 hour trip back home

It was a great hunt one I highly recommend you consider. Mongolia is a safe place to hunt, nice people, very organized and relatively easy to travel with a gun just don’t take more than 30 rounds of ammunition. I used my 300 Weatherby barrel and Swarovski Z8i 2-16x scope with BT but did not need the BT because I never had a shot over 300 yards. Probably didn’t need the power of the 300 but it was nice to have and packing the k95 from airline travel, Land Cruisers to carrying up and down the mountains was as usual a great choice. For me the K95 is the ultimate rifle for the traveling hunter or any hunting for that matter. 3 animals 3 shots fired.

I am headed to NZ end of May to hunt. Wish I could bring my K95.
Congrats on your hind.

What a great hunt, and thank you for warning about the expensive beer. These are the things we need to know!
