Each time I took the BBF97 out of gun safe or out of the vehicle, I almost always grabbed both barrels. I am concerned that the POI of the rifle would change as the rifle barrel is squeezed toward the shotgun barrel. The scope only stay true to the shotgun barrel, IMO.
Lat weekend, I checked my rifle sight in. I was disappointed to find that at 100 yard, the new POI was 2 inches low from 4 months ago, when I last time sighted in.
It bothers me that the top barrel is not a rifle barrel, the accuracy of which is more important than a shotgun barrel, had the German made a new combination gun with rifle barrel on top shotgun barrel below, I would replace the current BBF in nano second

Re: Worry about the POI change for BBF after grabbing both barrels
Can't say for the BBF but I have a BB97 (two rifle bbls, one sleeved in the "shotgun bbl"). I have wondered the same thing about the lower bbl when it gets squeezed and flexes. The set screw that regulates that is low down under the front piece of the stock. I have owned it for a few years now and never found the lower bbl shifts poi after it has been (mis)handled. To the contrary, they are both quite stable and have remarkable precision, provided I don't get bored and mess with the loads...

I've grabbed, dropped, dragged my bbf on hundreds of hunts. Same with double rifle set. Still shoots 2.5 " high at 100y.

Re: Worry about the POI change for BBF after grabbing both barrels
I may have to check if it the POI shift was due to the powder failure or something else. What happened didn’t make sense. Months ago, I sighted in at 100 yard - 250 grain Hornady ECX at 2400F/S. It had 4 inches drop at 200 yards. Last Saturday, I was shocked to find that the same bullets were 2 inches low at 100 yards, and 8 inches drop at 200 yards. In the meantime, the factory Norma Oryx 285 grain was 2 inches high at 100 yards and dead on at 200 yards. I didn’t check the speeds, as my chronograph is Magneto, which attaches the chronograph on the barrel (changing POI). I didn’t want to waste bullets, as my moose hunting trip is at the start of the October. I will buy a Garmin Xero this season to see if the speed of bullets dramatically decreased. The powder was more than 10 years old. I kept the powder in a room temperature in my garage.
For now, I will use Norma ammo.
