Zeiss V6 vs. HT vs. B2

Post by MM »

I have been looking for a scope for my K95 300 mag barrel. I love the Zeiss 2.5-10 x 50 HT models for their size and optics but would like to have just a little more magnification. I always disregarded the V6 models because I thought they are not available with a rail but I recently discovered that you can get a V6 with a rail for no additional cost. I am considering the V6 2-12x50 and the Blaser B2 2-12x50 with a turret for elevation, because of the size of the scope ( they are all around 12.5-13 inches. I was told the B2 is comparable to the V6 in image quality and light transmission, but how do those two models compare to the HT version? Only difference I can find is that the HT is listed as 95% light transmission and the V6 is greater than 92%. Can anyone help with the comparison?
Thanks,
Matt

I think these ideas are like asking someone to try shoes on for you.

You need to find someone that has all 3 and give them a look.

I always ask someone to try on shoes for me.
Easier said than done, I would have to buy all three compare and try to return two. The V6 rail is a special order so probably not returnable.

Order a Z8i with ballistic turret (rail model) from Eddie B. and the dilemma is solved.

I like the 1.7-13. It is about perfect for all Blaser models in size and weight and especially LOOKS!!
It fits all of them nicely.
Good luck MM!!!

I can finger bang any of them in Frankonia. I don't see a massive difference.

I have zero first hand knowledge. I am more of higher magnification guy.

It doesn’t look like there is much difference on paper but thank you for your input.

Hi Matt,

Have you thought about Zeiss V8 1.8-14x50 only 95 grams heavier than the V6.

I have a V8 and a V6 3-18x50, V6's are really nice scopes for the money, my eyes can not tell any difference between the two. My only grief is that V6 i have has no illumination available.

Do not buy a Blaser B2 in 3-18x50 what a piece of crap that is. My local gun shop is having an absolute hell of a time with these. They have had 5 come in and they are junk.

The rest of the B2's seem to be ok.
