Swarovski has just released some new products that I think many of you will find attracive. A new 30mm tube Z5(i)+ scope lineup and a 12x42 EL Range. Here is a summary:
The new Z5+ and Z5i+ scopes have a 30mm main tube. They are still making the Z5 with the 1" tube (although they have reduced the options to the ones that were the best sellers). The new 30mm tube scopes are identified by the "+" added to the name. They have a newly designed BT (balistic turret) which works in conjunction with the larger main tube to allow much more adjustment range. Around 80 MOA. They also have a couple of new reticle options you'll want to take a look at. BRW and BRS. The BRW looks to be the most useful for long range shooting for those of you that like tree style reticles. They all have MOA scale adjustments. The BT comes with both a MOA marked turret ring as well as 4 rings with the color coded dots we are accustomed to seeing with Swarovski BTs. You can also order a custom turret ring with yardage marks correlated to your load data. The new Z5(i)+ is offered in three sizes, with each available either non illuminated or illuminated and with a BT or without. They are:
2-10x42
3.5-18x50
5-25x56
The 2-10x42 is only 11.9 inches long and as light as 14.7 ounces (15.9oz w/BT). Nice and compact. That's the one I've ordered for myself to test drive. All have 91% light transmission and 95mm of eye relief. Very similar in specs to the Z6i and Z8i really, but at a more affordable price point. No, they are not being offered in a SR (rail) version. Only ring mount. I just spoke to my Swarovski rep and as of today all versions were in stock and available for immediate shipment with only one exception (I think it was the 5-25 BT w/4W-I). Order one of these new scopes in the month of January and in addition to your special Blaserbud price I'll throw in your choice of a free Swarovski scope guard or a free custom BT ring etched to match your load data.
The other new product will appeal most to long range shooters. The 12x42 EL Range TA. That extra 2x magnification will make measuring the range of those "way out yonder" targets more precise, and easier. Available in either green or orange. Just a few bucks more than the 10x version.
Head over to the Swarovski website for all of the details on these new products: https://www.swarovskioptik.com/us/en/hunting
Or just PM, text, email, or call me with any questions (and to get the best deal in the free world on these or any other Swarovski/Kahles products).
Thanks for taking the time to read all that,
Eddie

Re: New Swarovski Products
$2000ish bucks is a good deal. Hopefully they track.

Re: New Swarovski Products
Agree. The new BT turret appears much bulkier, and it's definitely heavier so that, combined with the better erector system on the Z5 as opposed to the Z3 should translate to more precise and repeatable dialling.
2/10/42 is a wonderful compromise for a hunting scope, but it's a shame about the reticle choices though. Those busy "sniper" reticles don't do it for me, and the plex on the 1" Z5s is way too thick and clunky.
I've used the 4W in the 3.5/18/44 Z5 and that was fine, but unfortunately that ret. is not available in the 2/10/42 Z5i+, which would be my choice.
Ah, well - money saved
