10,3x68 mag

Post by Jolokkana »

Hi what bullets have you used to reload 10.3x68 mag. Rws selection is too limited.copper bullets for hunting and range. We will run out of lead bullets in a few years, so it's time to look for alternatives.

I have two barrels. I can't remember how long they are one is longer than the other one. I bought 10 boxes of factory ammo when I bought the rifles. I have yet to reload, but I have been stocking up on components.

I put the Blaser R8 muzzle brake on my barrels and man what a difference. I spoke to my dealer about a silencer, but I do not have one yet.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/421255070454353/. Here is my 10,3x68 RWS 400 Vonow Facebook page. Not a lot of interest but we are a might band of 3 people.

Impala bought some of egun, the guy has not shipped them yet.

SAX KJG two bullets I just ordered some of these, don't have them yet.

RWS HIT this is the factory 200 grain bullet. I have been trying to stock up on these as Beretta took over RWS and I don't think they continue with this RWS vanity project.

Brenneke TOG, I think these are 245 grains. I have 4 boxes of these I have not loaded any.

Woodleigh .413 diameter 400 grain I don't have any of these yet, there are very few in stock anywhere. They are pretty cheap.

Hornady .411 diameter, I think these should work fine for 200 meters. I don't honestly know if that is true or not. I spoke to the old RWS engineer now a Blaser engineer at Jagd and Hund Dortmund about it

This is Peter Vonow's website. https://www.ats-vonow.com/10-3x68mag/

More later, I am running late for work.

Ok more on Peter Vonow, every time I have tried to order things from him it is out of stock. He doesn't answer emails and nor does he answer the phone. He lives south of Lichtenstein. His website won't allow you to order things unless you live in Switzerland. I asked Hannes Dickhof and he said he didn't know if he was still alive, but he thought he should be. So I don't have an answer on that one.

He is currently in stock on his own loaded ammo, but it still won't let it be shipped out of Switzerland.

I spoke to the RWS Engineer that helped push for the release of this cartridge his name is Hannes Dickhof. Like I said earlier he now works for Blaser in Isny. I am going to go see him later this year.

Isny is about 4 or 5 hours from the house.

Lead bullets are Brenneke TOG, Hornady .411 that might work, and the Woodleigh. I don't know if there are others.

Speer doesn't make them anymore, Barnes makes a .411 that might work but not lead. So does North Fork.

Not sure if these are leaded or unleaded. They are really light.

Here are some lead ones on egun.

The Impala bullets just came in. They are freaking weird looking.
Here are the 5 bullets I have at the house here. Like I said I have not loaded any yet. I still have lots of factory 10,3x68 Ammo in the RWS HIT.

Lutz Moeller didn't care for them very much.

hey Thanks for this information, now I just have to try to find a way to order something from somewhere. I already have those rws 13.5g HITs, but I would like 300-350gr bullets in copper.

I would contact all the small copper bullet makers and see if they will run some 300-350 grain bullets in copper on their Swiss Mills.

I would be in for 500 of them as long as you and I could agree on a good design. I do not think I want a bullet designed like the Impala.

The Lutz Moeller design of his Flitter 9,3 bullets would be interesting for the 10,3.

I just had a thought, and I will call him on Monday and ask the question. Erik von Schultheiss owner of Capra Adventures designed his own cartridge the 10,3 Capra based on I think a 284 Winchester cartridge. He might have some more projectiles available.
