Leica Amplus vs Blaser B2
I’m looking for an allround scope and I’m between Blaser B2 3-18x50 and Leica Amplus 6 3-18x44i 4a BDC.
The use will be as an allround scope for stalking (forest at dusk and mountain) and driven hunts for open spots.
Has anybody been able to compare both? Has anybody has any experience with them separately? Which would you choose?
Thank you in advance!

The Blaser B2 3-18 sucks, it has known quality issues with distortion.
So no that is not the answer.
My dealer has returned every single one he has sold, to the point he wont' order another one.

I have the Amplus 6 2.5-15 and it is absolutely amazing. I'm no expert, but I'd say glass quality is approaching top Swarovski quality

Re: Leica Amplus vs Blaser B2
Thank you all for the replies. It’s hard to believe Blaser has released a product with such a lack of quality, but of course I trust anyone who has been able to “touch” one of those Blaser B2 scopes. In my country is almost impossible to find anything different than a Zeiss or a Swaro in a shop, every other brand you have to buy before seeing the product.
I was liking the Blaser over the Leica for the objetive diameter, but also for the fact that the exit pupil on the Leica is way smaller than any other scope of these specs (7mm vs almost 10 mm in almost any other scope).
Does anyone else have any further experience with these two scopes?

Yeah, my dealer is the biggest Blaser dealer within 100 km. He probably sells 8-10 blaser rifles a month, and a boatload of Zeiss, Swarovski, Blaser and Leica optics.

Don't overlook the very nice Kahles Helia 3.5-18x50. I prefer it over the Leica - never even handled the B2 in 3-18x50.

I have the Leica Amplus 6 2-5-15x50i reticle 7 ballistic moa BDC moa, on my Blaser R93 338 Sambar. With out a doubt IMO, is the best budget scope on the market atm. Glass is mint
, all the turret's caps are made from metal and not plastic. The zero stop is so, so so simple to set up. Piss easy to zero. They come in a few different reticles as well. Depending on the turret style your after you can pick them up for around $1800aud and up.

Measure it, when it’s on the deck

I have the Leica Amplus 6 3-18x44i with the BDC MOA reticle. The scope is a great value for the money. Bright, not too heavy, crisp elevation adjustment. Excellent glass. Like other Leica scopes, the illumination is a center dot made for those last few minutes of legal shooting light. It is not daylight-bright. I don't much care for the reticle in mine -- the BDC MOA is too busy in my opinion. If it had bold, duplex-style center wires it would be much better. Looks like the "4A BDC" reticle does, but that one lacks hold-over marks so you would have dial for elevation.

Re: Leica Amplus vs Blaser B2
I handled the Amplus 6 3-18x44 on Thursday. I would absolutely buy one of those, and I think I will.
My guy has them for 1200 Euros. He doesnt' go through a middle man with Leica so he offers some good deals. But I don't have to pay VAT, so that makes it easier.
The downside is that it is 2nd focal plane, and has MOA. I would prefer FFP and MIL, but it really doesn't matter. You just have to set your optic up correctly with your range finder.

Re: Leica Amplus vs Blaser B2
@Gamsjagd, I know what you told me about Blaser B2...but I did it.
I luckily found a mint test unit of a B2 3-18x50i QDC+ I could try in a shop and after comparing it with a Leupold VX-6HD they also had I decided to keep it. I could not see greater distortion than in the Leupold at the edges and light gathering and definition are really good for me (better than the Leupold and on pair with an Swaro Z6 and Zeiss V6 I got at home) for the price I got it. Also tracking is for me the best among all of them with crisper clicks.
There is also downsides: the scope is HEFTY. On top fo the R8 Ultimate it makes the setup weight about 10lb (4,5kg) only rifle, mounted scope and sling. Power ring is STIFF. Really stiff. I hope it gets softer with use. Also the controls are on the wrong side XD, I hope I can get along with that given the IC control and keeping the parallax about 200m for fast shooting.
I still have to set zero and check BT and tracking, but looks like for around 1600€ (1700$) is a good deal. For comparison, the Leupold was not a test unit but it cost 2400€....
I'll keep you updated if there is further interest.

Re: Leica Amplus vs Blaser B2
Of course it is better than a Leupold.
I think Leupolds are massively over priced in Europe. I don't know why European gun shops bother selling them.
Nightforce here in Germany is as expensive as a Schmidt Bender. Great company, but I don't think an ATACR is quite the same as a PM 2.
