(Cartridge) 6.4x47 Lapua
(Brand of bullet) Sierra
(Weight of bullet) 130 grain
(Brand of brass) Lapua
(Type of powder) ADI 2209 / H4350
(Grains of powder) 40 grains
(Brand, and type of primer) CCI Small rifle magnum
(COL) 2.69 inches
(CBTO) 2.29 inches
(FPS/MPS) 2777 FPS
(Rifle) R8
(Barrel Length) 60cm match barrel
(Scope) Zeiss V6 5-30x50
(Weather conditions & temp) 18C, variable winds 9-28 km/hr
(Accuracy @ 100 yards/meters) 3 shots into 3.5 mm, 5 shots into 18mm.
(Notes) I think this load shows a lot of promise. SD 4.3 and ES 9 FPS. Winds today were from the west (Right to left of target) at various speeds, and not very good for testing. I will retest on a calmer day.
40.5 grains also shot well. 5 shots into 8mm, bottom target, but SD and ES doubled.

Re: 6.5x47 Lapua 130 Grain Sierra TGK
Update on the above load.
I have not shot my 6.5x47 Lapua for 18 months, in fact I have not done much of any shooting recently. Work, renovations, etc, you know the story.
However I retired last week after 45 years in the workforce.
Anyway, I went for a shoot a couple of days ago with my 6.5x47 Lapua.
I loaded from 39.8gr to 40.2gr, with the intention of fine tuning my above load.
Now bear in mind I haven’t pulled a trigger for a while, and winds were 15-25 klm/hr.
I shot one fouler, then this was my next five shots. The following three groups were all similar.
The 6.5x47 Lapua never ceases to amaze me. It is so consistently accurate and an absolute joy to work with.
The 6.5x47 Lapua has got to be the real sleeper in the Blaser R8 list of available cartridges.
