I think I can guess where your going, don't forget to use Jackie Chan's chin up bars
Buy a flash car duty free, and maybe a Blaser or too, then you can sell me the Blaser cheap
If you can export your own guns without giving money to the State Dept, bring them out (or have a relative bring them over) after you've obtained your ACT Licence.
They'll have to be registered by a dealer here (so the dealer & customs may have them for a few weeks - you cant leave the airport with them even if you have the Australian import permit) BUT Blasers etc are much cheaper in the US, and (as you may be noticing on AHN) most Australians have pisspoor taste in firearms so it take months to get hold of anything good here anyway
Quote: "...most Aussies have pisspoor taste in firearms anyway...." Perhaps so, but there are a number of them on the Marlin Owners forum. Just because my ten Marlin levers did not cost as much as my one Blaser does not detract from their intrinsic worth. maybe those of us with Blasers, higher grade Brownings and Berettas, and other fine arms get a little snobish at times. I know I have been guilty, or so I have been told. My dad had one centerfire rifle-a336C in .30-30. He wasn't a big game hunter but any coyote that showed his hide around Dad's stock farm needed to give his ill intentions to his compadres, because his a$$ was Dad's. There are those of us who like stuff, and there are those who like tools. Jack
I think going to Australia for 3 years would be a lot of fun.
From what I have read here on BlaserBuds I think if I was going I would take 2 R 93's, both synthentic.
I would take a Tracker barrel in 308, and a Tracker barrel in 375 H&H.
Both would have a Doctor Optic, and I have a S&B 1.5 to 6x42 on the 308 and a 2.5Kahles and a 1.5to6x42 Swarovski on the 335 H&H.
I would have to do some research to see if I would need a 223 barrel???
Just in time for summer or so, well the fishings good and the game have breed up, so come on over I'm sure a few of us can set you up to knock some down
