Texas - Cold enough?

Post by mchughcb »

Just a flying visit to Dallas/Denison and boy am I upset I didn't pack a jumper.
Trawling Gander Mountain for "survival" supplies before I freeze to death

Is it normally this cold in Texas, as last time it was pretty warm?

PS: The steaks in that Texas Roadhouse warms you up, but what the go with the peanut husks on the floor?

Well you happened to come through when we had a cold front moving through. We were close to freezing here yesterday and we're 300 miles south of you. Come visit between June and Sept and you'll get to enjoy temps up to 107 or more depending on where you're at in the state.

The Texas Roadhouse and Logan's Roadhouse both have the peanut thing. You can eat all you want and throw the husks on the floor. Supposed to be something with the atmosphere... If you get a chance to eat at a Saltgrass Steak house I recommend them over Roadhouse. Also have Texas Land and Cattle but to me they're over priced and the food isn't as good as the others. It's more 'high brow'... at least here in SA it fits that description.

We've got several buds that live up in the Dallas area. If you were coming to San Antonio I'd meet ya and we've have a good steak here or Mexican food or even good barbeque. San Antonio is known for good food and lots of it.

Making time to go by Cabelas is NOT an option! That's a MUST thing to do. I admit to not buying much there but they sure do have a building full of toys and stuff you just gotta have. Nice having one 40 minutes from the house now....

Have a safe trip home. Long way to go.
