Dallas Safari Club pics

Post by thechamp »

Been trying to get around to posting some more pics of the show and general info. Part of the show consist of raising money through raffles of various donated items by the participating vendors. The "bonus raffle" consisted of a Blaser R8 in 416 Remington with an illumination controled Zeiss scope in a 1.5-6 x 42. The package was valued at $6995.00 and donated by Blaser-USA.

The only way to obtain chances on the package was through 'bonus' tickets achieved by purchasing other raffle tickets on a multitude of other items including a very nice optics package donated by Euro Optics. The Euro Optics package included a Zeiss Victory Diarange 2.5-10x50 Rapid Z scope aas well as a STM 80 Spotting scope, Swarovski SLC 10x42 binos, also valued at $8,000. Also included the raffles was a Kreighoff Classic "Big Five" Double Rifle in 270 valued at $13,395, a Griffin & How Ramsport valued at $5500 and lastly in this collection a Classic Black Mink Jacket valued at $4,200.

There were also various other rifles, shotguns and hunt packages that they sold raffle tickets too. Too many to list but point being the creme of the crop was the R8 package for which you couldn't buy tickets for... and of course some rather attractive sales agents to help inspire you to spend your money...

A walk through the show found Blaser rifles on display in quite a few booths one of which was the Aimpoint booth who displayed 2 of his scopes on R8 rifles. One a very nice R8 Professional with a Attache barrel. The other what appeared to be a Jaeger model. The Aimpoint rep personally hunts with Blaser rifles and ironically hunted in New Mexico last year approximately 40 miles from where we hunted.

We did take some pics of the Blaser-USA booth and their display featuring the Blasers, Sauers and Mausers as well as others are on Corjack's camera and he'll get to those when he gets back home and has time to put them up.

The show consisted of lots of guns, hunts, hunting equipment, lots of artwork, lots of beautiful taxidermy work that was truly mind boggling and even furniture and jewelry.

The following will be just a running assortment of pics I took while there.

No idea but she was quite confident in her ability to sell raffle tickets! There was one young lady that was trying to sell some tickets to a shotgun, a hunt and something else that was all just pretty much stuff NOBODY was interested. She was so frustrated, it was funny stuff. Don't recall the brands but she hadn't sold many tickets and there weren't many in the hopper so the odds were probably the best of any in the show but nobody was interested.
