TIGER AT A WATERHOLE

Post by skeetshot »

These pictures were taken during a visit to the Taroba National Park this summer. As you can see, the tiger has obviously fed, and oblivious to the highly alarmed Sambar, took a short dip and went back into the jungle.

Brilliant pics!

Any chance of a higher resolution copy suitable for use as a desktop background? :)

The forum doesnt accept pictures more than 256 Kpixels :( so I have to change the resolution in order to post them. maybe I am doing something wrong :?

We need to ask Explorer to see what the best way to send a high resolution photo is.

Interesting !! The elephant I posted was seen near Kaladungi, which is where Jim Corbett used to live. His house is now a museum.

I am trying to convince a friend to to visit the areas Jim Corbett hunted with me.

I will most probably end up with a photo group on my own,and make a side trip.

Hopefully next year, working on dates now.

Google earth is fantastic;as you can read along and then get a real sense of the distances covered between villages in the book.

Let me know. I have a house above Kaladungi, approx 25 kms up on the road to Nainital, (look up Mongoli on Google Earth and scan 2 kms North Eat from there, the house with the blue roof is mine ). We have lots of leopards, Barking Deer (Muntjac), Himalayan Tahr, Kaleej Pheasant, Red Jungle Fowl and a wealth of bird life. My house is generally empty and all Blaser Buds are welcome. :) :) :) :)

You're doing nothing wrong, it's the board setting that was a little wrong

Now there's no limit on the picture size but they will now be shown as thumbnails in a post, you can then click on the thumbnails and view the full size of the picture

I will keep you in the loop as plans progress.

Looking for your house,is it near Sariyatal? The google photo's posted for the area between Kaladhungi and Nainital are stunning landscapes. ;)

You indeed have a beautiful country....

No, its near KhurpaTal. Tal means lake and there are many lakes at this high altitude, Nainital, SardiyaTal, KhurpaTal, NaukuchiyaTal, BhimTal etc

We are at 29° 21' 33.96" N and 79° 23'53.72" E. That is our place.
