After I finished highschool I thought to my self that I should have some time off before I started to work. That worked out for about 3 days when my friend called me up and asked if I could help him and his dad out with a work. Since then I've been working 200-300h/mounth in different places (exept the time I spent in NZ). After been working for 2 years I tought to my self it might be time to get hold of my life start to study again. Sadd and done I applyed and I came in on the school I wanted so now I'm sitter still in a bloody schoolbench 7 hours a day.
Seriously can this be right? Is it ment that young and vital people should sit still 7 hours a day when we could be working instead? Sure I can see the point of having an education and I reallise that the work I've been doing lately might not be the ultimate if I want to live til I'm 70. But there must be some other way to go insted of studying for half your life. I would rather like to work somewhere I start from scratch and I know I will lurn something out of it I can use later in life or I feel it's a company that gives a chanse to work my way up. Yes i know this kind of work don't grow on trees but you can allwas give it a shoot.
So after I've finished this courses I think I might skip school and go back to work again. Or what do you think, should I try to do it eaven if I think it might bore me to death?
I have a few questions for you guys (and Lena)
What's you're ocupation and how did you end up doing it?
Any one of you who would like help with anything. I'm open for most sugestions I can work on a farm, work for a any company, restaurant or whatever.
Any of you personally or any one you know work on a company that are willing to take trainees?
I'm not asking for mouch as long as I get a bed, something to eat and somewhere to shoot my rifle. I just whant to do something new.
Emil

Re: I need some pepptalking
I regret not paying as much attention in school as I should have. Now that I like to write, I struggle with sentance structure and other things a writer needs to know. Of course math is a subject that I also felt very little need for in the future and I see how the US is falling behind in the math fields that are so neccasary to scientific developements.
My advice to you is to tuff it out and get a degree preferably a masters if you can, the future is uncertain and the only thing you will have to sell is yourself, so set your self up for success.
Mr. Skeetshot is a highly educated man and I feel he needs to weigh in on this as well.

Hullo Sweden
Relax
,
I believe what Corjack says makes sense.
How fortunate you are that you are getting an opportunity to pursue higher studies. The doors this will open for you....
No need then to go knocking around looking to be just some trainee or looking to work in a restaurant.
And, with a little bit of time management, there will always be opportunities to shoot that Blaser you want to get.
And you may be surprised that you wont get bored to death but would end up doing many things new.
Good Luck

Re: I need some pepptalking
Today I'm in a little bettre mood then yesterday but I haven't let go of the dreams yet.
Last time i didn't tell you all of the story. I will finish the courses I'm doing now witch will go on til July. This year I'm doing now is just a pre-year befor I can start sudy what I really what. The education I whant to study is called "huntingmaster" translated from swedish. It dosen't really have anything to do with hunting, it's mosty foresty and so on. The education is 5 years long and the chanses to get a good job looks really good.
Because of the deprisson there's where twice as many appyling for this education compaird to the year befor whitch means I whould't have got in this year if I where able to apply this year, but I would't have hade any problems the years befor. I have no idea how it will look next year but there is a big chans I whon't get in next year either. Most likely will I be able to get in on the education on the grades I have in a few years when the world economy is better agian. Then I can't see the point of spending a years try to get my grades up. I rather spend theas year doing something fun and just wait out the situation.
I don't know if you knew it but we are really fortunet in sweden, we don't have to pay anything to study, not eaven on collage or university so it's not like I'm throwing away my parents money.
I've been working in different restaurants and bars in Sweden and Norway and I can say I haven't had as mouch fun in all my life. The problem is that everything you hear about that buisneys is true. I don't take any drugs and I don't drink as moch as many my coleags but it's not a job I will be able to do for long.
But if I would get a trainee plays at a good company that I knew gave chanses to evolv I moost likely would take it anyway, I have allwas had mouch easyer to lurn things by doing them insted of just reading about it.

Re: I need some pepptalking
If you want to work and study at the same time IT is not bad, but I would that you got have some flair for computers to drive yourself trough the study of these
When I started inside IT in 2004 it was all self-taught by playing around with them
I had my first computer back in 99, that year I quit the cigarettes and convinced myself that I could afford a computer
Since then I’ve been dependent on computers
Currently I’m going trough this MCTS exam

I would might have been a good idea if it wasn't for the thing I don't know a thing about them. I they don't work like I whant them to I scream and hit they, for some reason I don't think it the way it's ment to be done
