Very impressive for a hunting rifle. I realize the 6.5x55 doesn't have much recoil but how do you stack that one up against other 6.5x55 rifles you shot in the recoil department? Thinking along the lines that it might make a mighty fine rifle for the wife and kids as well assuming Dad has his R8 of course...

Recoil wise, the 6.5 is so mild, a rifle would have to be pretty light before it gets very lively in the kicking department.thechamp wrote:Very impressive for a hunting rifle. Tried this load in my Sako Finnlight. Lengthened out the OAL to 3.16. This barrel is like 20 7/8 long. with a 1 in 8 twist. Shot an honest 3/4 inch group at 100, then a 2.5 incher at 400 yards. Came up 16 CM to hit where I did, 17 would probably be better. Had a 7-10 MPH crosswind, so am not concerned with it printing to the right. Not going to shoot at a deer past 300 yards anyway. Pretty fair load for a 6.5 pound rifle minus the scope. Used a Harris bipod, and a sand bag rear. The thing does not load right, as the feet skid on my wooden bench. I need to put a piece of carpet on it, and see if that works better
