That bark, actually more like a "HONK" is one of the more reliable warning calls in the jungle that a predator, tiger or leopard, is on the move. They will watch the big cat and stomp a front foot and call as long as the predator is in sight.

During the 1980 s in the Tiger Reserve of Ranthambore in Rajasthan, India, there emerged a very bold and master hunter of a tiger called "GENGHIS" He specialised in hunting in the day and in hunting Sambhar.

Especially during Summer, when the vegetation was dry, the Sambhar would go into the lake and eat acquatic plants like Lotus.
