How do you get your knife sharp after use ??

I use a Lansky sharpening kit and it works very good

Its easy to handle and I use it every time I had used my hunting knife, then it only need a little sharpening

I use a couple of Japanese water stones that I have in the woodworking shop.

I carry a small pocket diamond stone for trips or touch ups in the field.

Those Lanskey's are supposed to be the best to keep an angle...

I use a paper wheel system on my grinder. You can put an extremely sharp edge on the cheapest knife you have in no time at all. You can also mess up a good blade fast if you use too heavy a hand.

I like the looks of the Lansky kit and might give that a try.

I have been using a Lansky for nearly 20 years, and it has worked great.

Over the years, I have "upgraded" my stones from standard to diamond, and I can't honestly say that it is any better.

Well, it is a hell of a lot cheaper to join the Lansky club than the Blaser club.

I find a Norton Oil stone best for really sharpening a blade after a lot of use.
I started using them in the late 1960's when I was working as a Butcher.

However for use in the field, I like the DMT Diamond folding sharpener.

Diamond works real good, especially on stainless blades.

Yes, me too, I have and use the Lansky, does a great job.

That said, I've been getting old and grumpy lately, and not only that but lazy

I won this little puppy from a shoot a couple years ago and it has been doing a great job for me, much faster! In fact, it was so good that at another shoot seen another one laying there, and snatched it up in a heartbeat, Waidmannsheil, Dom.

Personally, I prefer the EdgePro over the Lansky.

For convex edges, though, I use a series of strops with compound added.

Another vote for Lansky. After decades, no ruined blades, perfect performance as advertised.
