are you talking about stupid laws? Portugal is the winner! well, here you can use a knife till 10 cm (4") except if has a spring. then is always forbidden. hunting knifes only on act! if you remove it from bag before, you are using a weapon of war and go to jail. defense guns over 6,35 mm (25 auto) are considered war weapons and even for that it's almost impossible to get a permitt (they refuse permits to have a non duty self defense gun even to police officers and military). and if you shoot a tiefh, even INSIDE your home are you the one who get arrested (except if you get shooted before and die. then the judge can says you have used the proporcional response). and at last, the top: bb air guns (those that shoots plastic balls, yes) are considered war weapons and you go to jail if have one, except if you paint it yellow or orange!
therefore, I can use my leatherman tool, caus has less than 10 cm blade!

Sounds like the Hidalgos need to need to take a more active role in law making.

and I'm portuguese, not spanish... hidalgo is a spanish word... and portugal and castella are mortal enemies  (just kidding...not animore...now we are all european citizens ;) ) beside they have a little bit less stupid gun and hunting legislation, although socialist governments are doing all they can to change that...
and citizen participate in law making process? that is the problem: 80% of the population are in cities and are against hunt and guns

Sounds like the same issue we have. The city dwellars are against hunting and guns here for the most part too. I need to specify the 'big' city idiots are anti-gun and their politicians are definitely anti-gun. I've always said that the advent of the big city will destroy everything and it's working out that way. It's not a living/life, it's a disgusting place if there ever was one. Everybody lives in a can and right next to them is another one or above them/below them, etc.

This has gotten off topic, and I am going to continue the spiral into the abyss.

What the city dwellers don't understand is that for many of us "country folks" hunting and shooting is not just a sport but a way of life.Image

In their case it's ducking and dodging bullets from their gang bangers! They have an advantage though that their season is year round and no bag limit....  Now if somebody could just teach them morons how to hit what they're shooting at it would help scale the problem down immensely.
