Well I took out the S2 stalking yesterday, I think no mater what I put on her she is way too Iheavy, I used it open sites and by the time the day was over, it has worn me out, I think regrdless of superb accuracy and craftsmanship she will be passed on to a new home, hoprfully somebody with more muscle. Will stick to my R8, even though I thought that was heavy, it's much lighter then the S2, any takers for a fire-sale? lol

Romantic notions if Africa are soon given up when hard core sambar stalking. I like the k95 at a kilo less weight its great even aiming one handed.

Yep spot on Chuc, purchased in th heat of the moment, never a good way to do things, the K95 looks like a much more user friendly light rifle, Oh well back to Mialls hpefully he will understand, given the many years of ahnding large amounts of cash over, I'm hoping he will be simpatheti, or maybe NOT, he has a K85 there but I'm not sure what calibre, and it's a full wooden version so bound to be expensive.

Gary

Get a BBF 97 or 95. It is only about 7 pounds without a scope. 12 Gauge over anything up to 9.3x74. 12 G slug hits super hard out to 50 yards.

Good options, we will see what Jihn Miall has to offer tomorrow, thinking a standard rifle is the best think for me, no fiddly specialised fittings no extra headaaches to worry about, might just stick to the R8 and be done with it,

Gary, robinica has a kreighoff sxs double in 9.3x74R with a swaro rail scope. It is almost new, regulatable. Points well and is lighter than the S2.

He is based in NSW.

I reverted to continue working on my custon Voere in 9.3x74 the barrel is now fitted and the action is complete, need a single stage trigger to suit and were away appart from a custom Kevlar stock I'm awaiting on, all up she should weigh around 7.8 pounds.
Mr Mialls was good enough to buy back the S2 for the same amount I paid for it, nice gesture on his behalf, I kept the Blaser mounts, so if anybody is looking for one 30" they can have it for $300, my next purchase will be the K95 but need to save a few dollars, on that one the aimpoint will be the go. I made the decision to sell the S2 after returning from stalking last Sunday I swear I was walking lob sided for a few days, just too heavy for my fragile body.

Cheers
