Well its here. Its not perfect but will be one day soon.
Had a play with the gun and fitted up the 30-06 barrel and the stutzen forend, pretty happy the forend matched the stock better than the blaser supplied one.
Noticed while cleaning it all up that the red deer engraved side plate has been supplied as roe deer, just another for the list.

Beautiful rifle!

Few more pics of the grip cap and stock.
Was a bit dispointed that it came with a hard plastic butt plate and not a recoil pad so was looking tonight to get a grind to fit done when it goes to tamworth, then i saw that its actually meant to have a 15mm recoil pad on the stock... just another one for the list.

I just had a look in the Blaser Dealer book and the recoil pad is optional on that model.

However, if you ordered a recoil pad with it that's different. :handgestures-thumbup:

Ah interesting according to the blaser website and german price lists a 15mm recoil pad is standard equipment on all the wood stocked guns...
thats the info i went off when ordering and quoting.

Ill ask about it tomorrow might might have to chalk that one up to lost in translation, would have assumed a recoil pad would have been a standard fittment.

What is the Blaser Dealer book you speak of, is it a OSA thing or a Blaser thing ? My dealer dosnt have one and went off everything talking to Rod.

It's an Blaser Dealer book provided by OSA, tell your Dealer he can get a price list off the OSA portal and just print it out.

Recoil pads come standard from the K95 black edition onwards.

Always double check here with your Dealer, not off German websites. :handgestures-thumbup:

I wouldn't be concerned about the pad. My Black Edition K95 came with a pad, but it was more like a rubber butt plate than a pad and nothing like the 15mm pad on the R8. Current fitment may have changed.

I replaced it with a black .6 Old English decelerator. .8 would be better recoil wise, but I didn't want a thick pad on such a petite rifle.

I put the same spec pad on my 308 Stutzen.

Nice choice of scope, I'm 100% convinced you will kill more big game with a scope like that then some 6-16x Hubble telescope.

Ive tried the big telescopes but much prefer the smaller low mag scope
