From my very first pigeon and everything I shot, is wrote down in this book......
I like to look back if there is something I dont remember about a hunt.....
Anybody else who have something like that ??

The holy book......

Yes, I have one almost exactly the same, called a Schiessbuch I think, anyway very similar. It's nice to go back through it and remember certain hunts. I usually also write from where I sat, the time, the dressed weight, and any particulars of that hunt.
But I only started mine about 15 years ago, so it is not all inclusive, Waidmannsheil, Dom.

Mine is more like a diary,it has the usual stats like temp,wind,sun/clouds etc.
Then I add things like sketches and maps(just hand drawn);and a couple of notes about the day,if I took any shots,who I was with....
I use small spiral bound pads,easy to carry in a pocket with a small pencil stuck in the binding.
Fun to go back several years and look.
I also have a daily book,this was from an idea from my Grandfather.He is the one that inspired me to start hunting,although much later in life.He had a book with one or two sentences written in it everyday for over 70 years,he was 99 when he died.
Each day at the end of the day he would write just a little something about the day;
Planted the garden,or it snowed,the day he was married,when my father was born,the day he landed in NYC from Europe...
There are a few gaps from when he had TB,and a few from when he was a fugative from the law before he came to the US.They change in language when he learned English,and back to Slovak when he was in failing health and starting to drift in his mind,about the last few months of his life.Very interesting to read.

The old timer I hunt with has one. One day I will get it off him and add my events into my own Journal. It's a great Idea and a very good idea for Sambar hunting as to keep a record of whats going on at that time of the year.
Well done once again Olsen
