(Notes) 52gn is a little more accurate, but not as consistent and chronos at just under 2500. The 54 gn load is very mild, with no pressure signs whatsoever. Tempted to chase it up a bit, but as 2600 to 2650, with accuracy, is exactly where I wanted to be, I may call it good. Or I may not

I have shot quite a few fallow and reds with the Norma 156 grain Oryx at 2640 fps.

Thanks 9.3. My thinking was that 2600 should be flat enough for smaller targets, like dogs and foxes, to around 200yds, and for bigger stuff to maybe 250yds. You've confirmed that power won't be an issue.
I've decided that when I get a break in the weather, I will try another .5gn just to see if groups are still closing up. If they are not, I will leave it where it is. If they are still improving, I will go a little higher, just for the accuracy. Any extra speed will be a bonus, not a goal.

Nope - 54.5gn and it opened up. So 54 it is. I might fiddle with the zero bit as 2" high @ 100yds might be bit high for foxes, but other than that GTG.
