Prostitution? Australia.... interesting question

Post by thechamp »

I just read an article that said prostitution was legal in Australia? Is that right :?: :?: :?:

BTW, it's legal here, we call it "marriage". The drawback is that you pay for it whether you're getting any or not! :o

And if you go get it anywhere else... (ask Tiger Woods about that problem!)you'll never hear the end of it!

Yes it is ;)

In Canberra, the 1st place to legalize it there are about 40 brothels kicking around the place and in Sydney I wouldn't even want to guess.
Even where I live in a smaller country area there is a nice big cat house, best part is that the girls work from all around the country for a week or so, which means that there is always something new whenever you pop down to your local.
Or so the boys at work tell me

Now if ya'll could get rid of those stupid gun laws you'd have a real utopia! Always heard the place to go was Australia but nobody would tell me WHY!

I thought cat houses were legal in certain states in the US, and illegal in others?

In Australia there are plently of brothels both legal and illegal, and a few street walkers still plying their trade in certain hwy truck stops & inner city strips.

The ratio of illegal vs legal brothels tends to vary between states, just as the level of airbrushing in the freely available whacking material varies between states

In just how many of the 50 states are you likely to be charged, Hugh Grant style, for taking advantage for what is being offered on the sidewalk? We see a bit of the sting operation footage on COPS but I thought most states were relatively enlightened about the worlds oldest profession :?

Nevada is the only place that it's legal as far as I know and even there it is very tightly regulated. If a gal is caught working the clubs they'll run her out. Don't believe it's even legal to street walk there. Our country is very stuck on its high morals... (dam now that's funny) fraudulent morals are more like it. We have the most two faced society on earth. Sorry but that's what it is. I haven't traveled to too many states so I am definitely not 'the authority' on this. But to my knowledge it is illegal everywhere here to 'street walk'. Corjack might know better being that he travels all over the country on a daily basis. Not saying of course that he would have first hand knowledge....

I knew it was legal in some areas but again didn't know it was THAT LEGAL! And I agree it should be legal everywhere. Buddy of mine spent a lot of time in Asia and I gather it was legal there or at least nobody cared. He still raves about his memories of Asia.

Yeah we're one screwed up society here in the states..... Not sure how it got this screwed up but it is.

Legal 'part time', does that mean like from 6 PM to midnight or certain days of the week, month? Hmmmm

How does the government know how much someone earned? I mean usually it's a cash transaction....... :?

Part time just means that your not allowed to live of it, you need to have another job on the side.
I don´t know how they tjeck it, but they do, and if you don´t pay your taxes you get a ticket or go to jail :)

All hookers have to pay taxes in Australia as well. Even criminals are meant to pay taxes. The tax department has more power than the police to get money out of you. I used to live in Kalgoorlie which is famous for brothels on Hay St for all the gold miners. However I can say that the quality of girls is much better in Amsterdam and they charge about the same price. Only problem is the airfare to get there

If the girls can not pay the taxes, do the authorities take it out in trade?
