That's a pretty slow speed isn't it, shouldn't you be able to get over 880mps?
I'm soft and I don't care.

I agree Speedy, it's not exactly a powerful load
.
I will add that I don't expect to get a heck of a lot of velocity from the Blaser match barrel.
It's 23.6" long and probably only 23" when you account for the locking section.
When I shot F-class I got an MV of around 914 mps/ 3000 fps with 155 gr bullets. And that was out of a 32" barrel.
So I don't think I can quite reach 880 mps in this barrel.
I'm not too concerned about the velocity though. I primarily use it for a discipline called McQueens at 300 yards and the practical difference in higher MV is limited.
I'll probably spend some more time trying to get group to tighten up a bit.

Frankly, I would also expect a better group than 1" at 100yds from that barrel.
I know mine shoots better.

So would I. The group I shot at 100 yards was an inch, but it was a little hurried.
What velocity are you getting from your .308 match barrel? And with what bullet/weight?

I shoot the 168gn Amax in front of 43gn of AR8208 for 2800fps, which is 100fps more then the ADI manual lists.Saugmann wrote:

But it lines up with my ballistics program and real world testing to confirm it.
So that's 853m/s with a 168gn pills out of a 22" barrel.
Well to be accurate it's an ES of 2785-2798fps.

Thanks guys. That's more than I expected to get. I will reconsider developing for velocity.

Velocity isn't everything but there's no need to drop it back too much if your not going too hot.
A mild load around 2800fps from a 155gn pill will be better at range and actually safer.
I'm more worried about under loading then by going a little bit over.
I'm soft and I don't care.

I agree, but with what you guys are getting I should be able to wring a little more out of it.

You should be in 2850 FPS with this bullet in R-8 23 inch barrel. Try N140 from VV. My R-8 with 150 gr Partition shoots 2900 FPS, no pressure signs.
