Has anyone played with a S&B Stratos?

Looking at this one http://www.schmidtundbender.de/en/produ ... ratos.html but I think I'll have to ask for a special order FD1 reticle.
The current price appears only to be a few hundred more for 8x at the top compared to the 1,5-6x Zenith although I might be comparing railed with non railed
Next question, how does the Convex rail go mounted on a .375H&H at full throttle? I'm thinking some more magnification would be handy if I get myself to Benin for Western roan - probably overthinking but that's all part of the fun
