Thanks Bob, I think I will settle on that load and just try and work on my shooting. I think there is room for improvement, it’s amazing how tired you eyes get after a couple of hours of concentration. Or maybe my eyes are just getting old.

Any reason for going with the TGK ? I would have thought the TMK would be the go in such a mild cartridge.

Not if you want to use it for longer range on fallow across gullies...

Au contraire. I would think that long range (depending on what that is) fallow would be more suitable to the TMK. :) Dunno about hitting the humerus on a big old buck, but otherwise they should be rather more emphatic than the TGK.

Caveat: I have no experience with the TGK in anything, and have used the TMK only in 168g in 308, and only on a small number of animals, but it did surprise me.
