Re: Poor pup
Not good, she had to have emergency surgery to remove her womb and 2 sections of bown.
She was 50/50 last night and she has picked up today but she is a long way from being out of the woods.
I'm hand rearing the pups so I'm on an every 2-3 hour feeding schedule.

Re: Poor pup
So do I, before this is over it will cost me what I bought my K95 for.
I'm already up to $2800, blood tests and plasma could cost another $1000 and that's just mum not the pups.

I hope she pulls through mate. Good luck with the pups, that feeding schedule is going to be a real bear.

Re: Poor pup
I got to see her today and she has made really good advances today.
She is eating a little on her own and drinking, her colour has improved and there is a chance that she might even be able to come home tomorrow afternoon.
But I don't trust the vet that was on today, she was the same one that advised me to take her home.
The vet on tomorrow is the one that operated on her, she has been the one that has been helping her and I trust her.

Re: Poor pup
What an ordeal. What we do for our critters is amazing. Glad she made it and that the two little ones are doing well. BTW with pets, money isn't really even thought of. (Until you pay the bill.)

Re: Poor pup
Tell me about it, she has cost me two new barrels for my K95.
But I've decided after this fornicate it, I'm going to order that hornet barrel and the second forend for it instead of using the one from the stuzen.
I figure stuff it life's too short, and I've dropped this much coin what's 3.5k more.

Great news.
Life is too short to hunt with an ugly dog.

Re: Poor pup
Make sure you also order the metal bits that go inside the forend. You'd be ticked off to wait eight months for the wooden shell and have another eight months wait for the metalwork.SPEEDY wrote: ↑Mon Sep 07, 2020 4:33 amTell me about it, she has cost me two new barrels for my K95.

Yes I'm ordering a complete forfend unit, it was around the $1400-$1500 or so.secondtry wrote: ↑Mon Sep 07, 2020 4:21 pmMake sure you also order the metal bits that go inside the forend. Another $2400 hundred for the barrel and a bit more for my smith to trim it to 20" for me.
But to the pups, they are doing good, maisie is settling in and helping me with the pups.
All I have to do now is feed them, but Maisie is cleaning them and stimulating them to go to the toilet for me.

Re: Poor pup
Off topic again, I'm considering selling what remains of my firearms apart from my 3 must keep guns.
Then get another R93 as my backup and loaner gun, I will keep an eye out for one in either 308win, 30/06 or 270win.
Ideally I'd like a 270win.

Re: Poor pup
My grandfathers old VG Bentley SxS, my Beretta Silver Hawk ball and shot gun and of course my K95 with the 30/06 and 22 hornet barrels.
I wanted to go all take downs and get a smaller more compact safe.
Not much wouldn't be covered by that spread that I'm ever going to hunt. Might get a 9.3 barrel down the track, probably for the K95.
