Kahles 3-9 x 42……but what model?
I picked up a second hand, as new, Kahles today…..but I haven’t a clue as to which model. Any suggestions?
Kahles, aluminium tube, 1” , 3-9 x 42.
Thanks Rod

Looks like a 3-9x42 KX to me....
On second thoughts it looks like the previous model.
Either way it’s a keeper, love Khales scopes.

Can you do a serial number check on it?

I agree with others, a great scope, no matter the specific model number. I also understand your desire to know, hopefully some one will be able to identify the specific model or a serial number will reveal that information. Let us know what you find out.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I sent off an e-mail to Kahles with details and serial number. Hopefully, I'll get a reply. If not, it doesn't matter.....the optics are brilliant .

Funny thing is I've got KX and CL and stupidly sold a AH model, but they all said what they were apart from the CL, so I'm picking it's a CL.

Heard back from Kahles today. The scope is an AH (American Hunter) made in 2002 and intended for the US market.

I was almost going to say an AH, but mine had AH and assembled in the USA on it.

Below is the link to the original brochure that Kahles sent me for this scope.
Interesting that it says the scope is a “CT American Hunter”. No mention of where it’s made and or assembled either on the scope or in the brochure. Interesting but not important.
Anyway, it’s a bloody nice scope

Re: Kahles 3-9 x 42……but what model?
I have come to the party rather late on this but as the owner of several Kahles scopes, I could not resist chipping in. My understanding of the 'CT' designation was that it originally meant 'Compact'; that being a specific reference to the size of the ocular (eyepiece), which on Kahles 'scopes for the American market were not 'oversize', as they were on all their models made for the European market.
As a picture is worth a thousand words, however, I have attached one showing my Kahles KX 2-7x36 (with 1 inch tube) mounted on a .22LR rifle which illustrates the large ocular (and which both 36mm and 42mm objective 'scopes shared). I actually took this five years ago, when I bought the 'scope and it is now destined for a Blaser K95 in .222 Remington, a rifle which will realise its potential far more than its present partner.

I've got the 2-7's on a 22lr, 22 hornet, 30-06 and one spare I take away in case something goes wrong on one of those.
Brilliant scopes, I've also had the 3-10x50's which are brilliant in very low light. But the compact little 2-7's are my all time favourite scopes.

That's an enviable little collection that you have and I absolutely agree with you. It's still a 'close call' for me, though, because my other two Kahles 'scopes are a 4x36 and a 6x42 and whilst regarded as 'old school' by today's standards, have incredible image brightness and a super-wide field of view.
