Beautiful spot and great weather.
Life is too short to hunt with an ugly dog.

I'm going out again while she is at tafe this morning, I'm going to use done bigger soft plastics and see if I can target the bigger ones.
It's a great spot and as you see by the fish finder once you park on a school it's literally fish in a barrel out there.
I'm soft and I don't care.

That's on Lake Hume, we normally pull out 20-30 in a couple hours fishing then call it a day.
The way the wife cooks them, she marinades them in brine and then dries them in the sun, bones, don't seem to be a problem as the flesh peals off them.
But then she eats carp too, I just can't stand the stinking things in the fridge.
I don't eat fish so I can't give my personal observations, well I eat trout but that it.

I’ve had euro carp in a stew, was delicious.
A bit of work.
Need to keep them alive and put in the bath tub and keep cleaning out the water till it’s clear then they are good. Places that have clear water you don’t need to do that.
Best carp I have had was out of Blue rock dam in Gippsland

The wife eats the young ones, they are apparently good.
For me, I don't eat fish and I definitely don't eat bloody carp.

I have eaten carp that was like eating dirt.
The only carp meal I do like was the fish paprikaš my god father made.
I don’t like the larger Murray cod, smaller are sweeter.

Yes, I got some bones, stuck in my throat as a kid, nearly killed me.
Now everytime I taste anything fishy I just can't swollow it, and I used to love fish as a kid too.

Yeah, that'd do it.. I like fresh saltwater fish. And by fresh I mean caught and cooked... but if it has been laying around on ice for a few days its just manky bloody stuff. Freshwater fish, even trout and char fresh from clean water, well, I eat it because my mates insist on cooking it when we're camping in the mtns but really not a fan.

Trout is great but you have to cook it right, never ever skin it, lightly flour and pan fry skin side down with a flip at the end and a dark vinegar sauce.
All the flavour is in the skin and the sauce made from the juice in the pan, little malt vinegar, little butter, little lemon juice and a little flour.
Now, that's fish I can eat.

when I was still back in Oz we used to cook 'em up with lots of butter and almond flakes. Fresh out of the stream they weren't half bad. Never thought of a little malt vinegar, good tip!
