Steiner binos

Post by Scooterp »

I have an old pair of Steiner Military-Marine 8x30 binos. They could refreshing, probably 30 years old. Is it worth doing those or spending extra on newer optics? Higher end Vortex, meopta used European binos. They are mainly used for deer hunting in the southern US. Thanks.

I have owned a couple of pair of Steiner Military Marine 8x30s' in my life. They were great binoculars, I think I got them in Greece for $200 in a military store there.

Not sure what the budget brings today, but it would be worth asking Steiner what they could do for them? They make everything in house, in Germany.

I have a pair of 8x42 Meoptas I would sell for $700. They are the Cabelas model. Really beautiful glass. Send a PM with an email adress and I'll send photos.

The Bushnell Forge 8x42 is rather spectacular for Chinese made binoculars. I do not like objective lenses that are smaller than 42. So I don't have any recommendations for smaller binoculars. They Forge is about $450.

Vortex sucks unless you buy their Japanese models "Razor". Burris, Leupold, Minox, Nikon, and about 30 other people make a really great 8x42 for under $600 either from Japan or the Philipines.
