Deer Season is Over

Post by MM »

Season is over and never did catch up to a big buck. I saw some decent deer but decided to give them another year and I hope they survive. I did shoot a doe for meat and I wanted to see how some new 350Legend ammo would perform. Bear Creek Ballistics in Michigan ( not to be confused with Bear Creek Arsenal) makes a 140 grain all copper spritzer bullet at 2600 fps. I shot it over my chronograph and it delivered the velocity and it was consistently accurate. I have shot some smaller groups with other ammo but on average this is the most accurate ammo I have tried and it is definitely the flattest shooting. I shot the doe second last day of season so the deer are pretty nervous and spooky by then and they tend to run when shot. She was 47 yards away and ran another 40 yards and fell over dead typically for the 350 Legend.
It was a pass through with considerable damage to the heart and lung with an excellent blood trail though not needed but good to see. If you are a 350 Legend shooter I suggest you give it a look.

: Looks like a great eater. Our season is just about to start. We can hunt deer all year but its our summer and there's lots of snakes out and fly's. So most guys hold off till the ground gets a bit cooler. :handgestures-thumbup
Measure it, when it’s on the deck

I like the 350 legend, for its designed use its a brilliant and effective round.
Looks like it was well worth getting the barrel made.
I'm soft and I don't care.
