October 2nd is drawing near. We will be having a range day at a local San Antonio range, you will get to shoot and handle a new R8 Professional in 9.3X62, BBF 97 in 9.3X74R, and a few others. NE 450 no 2 will be giving a few handgun and rifle shooting tips, Blaser USA has not commited, but I imagine someone will attend. A light lunch and refreshments will be served. After a day of shooting and BSing, we will retire to the Marine annex, where we will be eating freshly cooked BBQ brisket, baked beans, potato salad, cole slaw, and peach cobler. I guarantee there will be more food than you can possibly eat.

Our guest of honor for these proceedings, will be aproximately 15 to 30 marine corp wounded warriors and their support personel.

So far the BlaserBuds attendance looks like this

1. Retrieverman
2. The Champ
3. Mauserman
4. Blasernut
5. NE450no2
6. Boyscout
7. Devil Dog
8. Corjack

If you are planning on attending, please let us know, and we will add you to the list. Everyone is welcome, so please do not be shy.

FWIW if anyone has a 'LRS' they'd like to loan for the event we'd be happy to have it.

Otherwise things appear to be set pretty well.

We're hoping to give the guys a good show and a good time.

We are looking forward to some Blaser brothers coming over and taking a tour of our annex and meeting some wounded warriors as well. I will also give a brief to all so that you can see we do on a day to day basis here. I'm sure the Marines wont be shy about eating your food as well!
I understand the boys at Blaser are busy with another event that weekend. Thats too bad because we would love to have them. I want to personally thank Kevin, Lee, Ken, Josh and the rest of the crew over at Blaser-USA and Sauer/Mauser. Those guys have bent over backwards and given these wounded warriors the shirts off their backs (or barrels off their shelves) to support our hunting effort here. Those coming will get to see some of the pictures and mounts of animals that these young men get to pursue. The Marine Corps doesn't give me funds to take these guys hunting and it would not be possible without the generosity of guys like them and board members like you!

Corjack ask that I post the location where he'll be staying for the weekend here in San Antonio. The location is on the north east side of San Antonio right off IH 35 and near N.E. Loop 410. It is about as central a spot as we could find on the nicer side of San Antonio with easy access to Fort Sam and the other locations he'll be visiting this week. (Including coming out to the farm for a bit of bird hunting! :D )

The rates were very reasonable - double occupancy including taxes for four nights was $215.24. This price was on line so I'm not sure if it would be any different if you just 'drove up'.

Days Inn San Antonio

Getting on the plane to go visit my Detachment in MN, but I wanted to thank all those involved in our Blaser shoot and BBQ on Sat. We did not have as many Marines as we wanted, but those who came had a great shoot and a lot of good food. I personally want to thank Ron Tony, Brian, Carl, Tip, Alexo, and Blaser-USA for putting this together. Probably a couple of other people who's names I don't remember but thanks for all that you did and continue to do. The Marines continue to enjoy the left overs and there was a lot of discussion about the LRS II.
All of you folks are welcome to stop by anytime.
Semper Fi,
LtCol Dave Barnes
