Re: Tiger crossing a flooded river
skeetshot may have more info on this, but I have heard there is an island somewhere in a river delta where once or maybe twice they allow eole to go there and collect wood if I remember correctly.
The island had quite a few tigers. So many that it is not safe to slee on the island, so they slee on their boats in the river.
Many times tigers have swam out to the boats, climed aboard and "got" some of the people.
Tigers, pigs, bears, and elephants can swim like Tarzan.

Thats right, NE450 No2, the place is the SUNDERBANS, a very vast mangrove delta of the river Ganges where it opens into the Bay of Bengal, about 1500 km from where I am. The tigers here are notorious for their man eating habits. This vast inhospitable swamp is frequented by fishermen and honey collectors many of whom fall victim to the tiger.He is known to swim after the fishing boats to pull the people out. It is suspected that the salt water habitat makes him so aggressive.NE450No2 wrote:skeetshot may have more info on this, but I have heard there is an island somewhere in a river delta where once or maybe twice they allow eole to go there and collect wood if I remember correctly.

Here is the Nat Geo film about the area and it's tigers....
It's a bit overly dramatic;
