Sarah Palin
I think Sarah Plain is a great gal, and feel her heart is in the right place, however I have mixed feelings about her as a presidential candidate, most of this revolves around her limited experiance. My dad has never had any interest in politics, never has registered to vote in his life. He told me that if she runs, he will register, and be the first in line to cast his vote for her. If she can energise the party, and bring out political non participants of the past, she may bear a little more consideration.

They'll have to start packaging her better if they are at all serious;
Shes as crazy as the one that was a witch from the Carolinas.

Re: Sarah Palin
I am not sure how "presidential" she is, but she can't do any worse than the one we have now...

Re: Sarah Palin
O'Donnell was from Delaware and she was dabbling in witchcraft when she was younger. Hillary is a full fledge witch and she made it to Secretary of State! A good number of folks still believe she will take Obama on and beat him before this chapter closes. Not much difference between their platforms of socializing and destroying the country they hate.dinsdale wrote:They'll have to start packaging her better if they are at all serious;

BTW here's a blurp on O'Donnell:

I liked the comment that James Carvill made the other day:
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
Democratic strategist James Carville, speaking at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast.
"If Hillary gave up one of her balls and gave it to Obama, they'd both have two.”
Ironically a friend of mine emailed that one to me this morning...
As for Palin, being that I have a brother in AK who shares some tidbits with me, I tend to believe she'd be better than what's there now but not good enough to help America. We need somebody with intelligence and the ability to communicate what NEEDS to be done to right this ship and put an end to this spending nonsense. Even then I think it's probably destined to crash no matter who's at the helm. Right now Attilla the Hun would be an improvement over what's there!

When you have the number of people who are dependent on the government for their livelihood, whether it' 'government employees' of all levels, welfare recipients, old folks drawing their SS, disabled ones drawing their disability checks, unemployed folks drawing their check, independent contractors looking to the government for more work, and a host of others it's going to be very difficult to elect someone who might cut some of those things. Human nature is we all vote for the one that's going to 'help' us. It didn't get screwed up over night and it won't get fixed over night. At the same time look at the rest of the world's financial mess. We aren't the only ones that elected the wrong folks over time. And throwing in a few kooks like N. Korea and Iran along with the village idiot in South America along with a media that has it's own ideas of what it wants to see happen we're screwed.

I think N. Korea should be designated a nuke testing area, and the US should do the first test. An alternate test site could be Iran.

You have to love any woman who can whack her own halibut and not wince.
I think Palin needs some training on public speaking. I think the "Aw Geez" will only take her so far. Not in the speech realm, but, in the smaller settings. She has at least as much experience as our current president, who only voted "present" when the going got rough.
Even with an energized party, I don't know if the country would elect her. The moderates (independents) are the third party, and, she may be too far right.

Re: Sarah Palin
Excellent point. And a point that was made in bold caps with the defeat of O'donnell and Angle. Both of those seats would have been won by a 'moderate' republican. These two were way too far to the right for the majority that voted. And to clarify that further in an off year a lot of the totally wacked liberals usually don't even bother to vote. Had this been a year where the president was on the ballot they would have gotten severely trounced. The way it was they just 'lost'. And not to forget California but I think for a true republican to ever win a statewide race again is history. Re-electing Jerry Brown and Boxer shows that there is no hope there. Lots of good folks there who are powerless in having a chance to fix the mess. Millions of others have already sold out and left.rodell wrote: Even with an energized party, I don't know if the country would elect her. On another note, our Governor had mentioned last year that we had the right to secede the union. Lots of folks laughed but he made his point that we don't have to put up with Uncle Sam's crap. On that note if the federal government went to war to prevent states from leaving, how about us voting to kick some states OUT? Maybe that would shock their libs back into consciousness...

While I don't think this is entirely a bad idea (I've often wondered why Syria still exists) you might have trouble getting this by Sarah P. She was reported in our media yesterday as saying, in her typically forthright manner, that "The US supports North Korea"......I think N. Korea should be designated a nuke testing area

She had actually said it correctly and then mispoke. Obama does this stuff regularly.... If he's talking without his teleprompter he's in deep doodoo! We used to call it a situation where the brain cells overheat from too much work and screw up....
Here is the interview where she stepped on her boobs...

I'm strictly "non-partisan" here and I can see why this might apply to Obama but Palin?We used to call it a situation where the brain cells overheat from too much work and screw up...

Re: Sarah Palin
Being that I have a close relative in AK and keeps me abreast of some of her screw ups I tend to believe that she's a better 'marketer' than a do-er... Her famed gas pipeline so far appears to not be going anywhere. Something about the way she did the bidding process and other hitches that she didn't know the right way to do it. Don't know enough about it to be able to explain it but there are some problems with her actual ability to perform in the workplace... In other words her job knowledge and Obamas should be a toss up... Other tidbits are that she appears to not really want to know the material and fails to take advice from those who are experts in whatever they're trying to do at the time.Vaughan wrote:Well, yes, everyone realised she mispoke - godforbid someone put a recorder in front of me everytime I opened my yap - but that was a beauty![]()

She backed Miller for Senator and he is a complete buffoon which was exposed after the primary and allowed the incumbant senator to win a write in campaign defeating him and the democrat! Essentially two republicans each getting more votes than the democrat did... Miller is a piece of work. Miller was convinced that people in the Republican party were out to kill him a couple years back and made a complete azz out of himself. Funny thing was she supported him for senator and when the media asked him about what kind of president she'd make he said he didn't know...
From what I gather Alaskans are definitely split on their support of her but chances are slim she'd get re-elected to the Governor's chair even if she wanted it. Alaska has it's own Hatfields and McCoys when it comes to politics!
The one big thing she's doing is giving the media and the left a target while other candidates are able to lay low and not expose themselves for targeting until the time comes. While they use this kind of mispoken stuff for the time being to cast doubt on her, I suspect a lot of more substantial stuff will come out on her when the time comes. No sense in using all your good stuff when people aren't paying attention. Kind of like Obama being a crack head or whatever drugs he was doing while in college. He got it out early and nobody paid attention to it again.
