Blaser Expedition Backpack and knife

Just like to share some thoughts on some blaser gear I bought recently.

A month or so ago, Pigeon was kind enough to send me some blaser gear, including a blaser expedition backpack. I've used it a few times now, just hiking around to get used to it with some gear and now I use it as my throw in the car pack with the blaser R93 just in the carry pouches. Its so much less mucking about as I have a double rifle case, and less obvious that my blaser soft case. People are not the wiser when you go to a camping ground and carry it from the car. There is plenty of room and it sits nicely on the shoulders and waist. I've just bought a 3 litre water bladder which I will install later in the special compartment.

You can carry in pieced on the back or assembled on the side. It is a great bit of kit with the price to match  :o :x

I also bought a Blaser Knife of Euro Optics and have been giving that a good workout too. On a recent rabbit trip we used it on plenty of rabbits and foxes. The knive is made by Bokker but it is a great knife as it has the blaser tool and a bone saw. Also a luminous strip to find it in the dark.

And recently I didn't make it back to the car before nightfall so had to construct a shelter using the blaser saw blade to cut down some small trees and ferns.

I also have a Blaser pocket knife.
I have used it to gut and skin several deer, wild pigs, turkeys and some small game.
Did one black bear with it as well.

I have also used the saw quite a bit. It "cuts" good.

It has become one of my favorite knives.

Can you get the pack in the US?

No idea, I live in Australia and only go the US occasionally, but I tried Maddog in Arizona and said it was painful even to send a blaser knife or cartridge holders. I don't know what the problem was. In the end they didn't even respond to my emails.

I emailed Pigeon and true to his word he organised everything and had it on its way from Germany in no time :D

I have a blaser knife also, very good quality--sharp as heck!

Alot of blasers clothing is very nice, just not many dealers are willing to carry the goods at the price they are selling.

I ordered two knives, one for me and one for a mate (who now has a bought a blaser!). Anyway when I opened the knife out of the bag, I noticed hair on the blade. I thought, couldn't be somebody testing how sharp it is? Then I opened my mates and sure enough it had arm hair on it as well. Somebody at the factory or Euro Optics has gone to the effort to make sure they dry shave before the customer gets them. I can also say they dry shave straight out of the box no problem. I 'm not sure I'd try that with the bone blade as your arm may fall off

About 360 Euro + postage. Damn nice pack though and perfect for the takedown R93. Its too large for a day pack you are better using something smaller. But for a few days hiking/camping its perfect.
