It has been brought to our attention that we have aproximately 15 marines stationed at San Antonio Tx. that are recovering burn victims or amputees. These guys are interested in hunting and outdoor sports. After giving it considerable consideration today as to the apropriate BlaserBuds response that would give them the most and lasting benifit, I think the most down to earth response would be too put together fifteen kits containing.

1. pocket knife
2. belt knife
3. binoculars
4. brick of 22 shells
5. 250 shotgun shells
6. Gun cleaning kit/ supplies
7. ETC.

Phase one, will consist of some sort of silent auction of donated items that members have laying around that they have no use for and might generate some cash. This area will be set aside in the classified area.

Phase two, will consist of seeking out venders to match our donations with the products needed, we hope to come up with products of reasonable quality as we would not want to give these guys, or perhaps gals products that we would not want to use ourselves.

Phase three, will consist of the logistics to get the goods to the intended guys, or gals.

We need volenteers for a chairman and a cochair to assist in overseeing the proceedings. I am appointing 505Ed as liasson officer as he lives in San Antonio.

Please look through your assorted items that you may wish to donate for the silent auction as we work out the details.

Ron

That would be great, but we are still working out the details. Hopefully will have the groundwork in place in the next few days. We will give you an adress as soon as we figure out the little stuff.

I'm taking some mag's (guns and ammo, SCI safari, Sporting Clays's, ect) to the guys over there on Thursday of next week. I think this is a worth while program.

I am looking at Sightron SI 10X32 roof prism binos, they are decent quality, made in Japan and in the aproximate price range of what we may possibly be able to afford for this size project. Anybody got a better Idea?

Lets set some kind of fund. Lets say I can donate a custom hunting knife for an auction or just donate some cash. I think that a cash fund is more practical to talk to the dealers and purchase good gears for those guys we all owe to. I am in!
Just IMHO. Andrew

Thanks again for running with this.
Like I said I have some business contacts I will be meeting with to get some major sponsorship.
I really like the gift package deal.
I won a guided Anetlope Hunt with Butch Manasse I will be Donating back. I will contact Col Dave to see how he wants to handle that. We would need to get some funds for the Wyoming tag.

Come one and all jump on and give our MARINES THE SUPPORT THEY NEED.

Man this can be a big deal and be proud to be part of it.
