But I was going to go deer hunting on Long Island, about a 2 1/2 hour drive)and they had 2 feet where I was headed

I wonder how retreiverman's dad is doing? He's in Oklahoma....

Actually, my parents live 3 miles through the woods from me here in Texas, but they do have a house and a few acres in Oklahoma. My parents and my youngest son are leaving Monday morning to go up there to hunt ducks, geese, and quail, and I will be going up next weekend to bring my son back.

I missed the snow, only getting about an inch, but west and south of here got a substantial amount. It is cold enough to freeze the balls off of a pool table, however.

North Central Oklahoma received about 5" but my father, who lives in Southern Oklahoma received 12". The drifts from 60 mph winds completely buried his pickup and made feeding cattle next to impossible.

We had about 4" of snow, with drifts to 3 feet at my deer lease near Throckmorton Texas.

I love to hunt in the snow..

I did shoot some deer and pigs. Tracking in the snow is GREAT.
