I walked that plank with an R93 luxus, best stroll I ever took.

I'm also trying to talk myself out of buying one. But, I think the little voices in my head are going to win. Just need to determine what caliber is next in the Blaser collection.

Same. I think the stutzen would be great in either 6.5 swedish or 6.5 creedmoorBwaybuilder wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 7:28 pm I'm also trying to talk myself out of buying one. That would be a great combination . Both are great calibers.

The 20" barrel length would be the only issue with a 6.5mm Stutzen.

Re: Talk me out of a K95...
I agree which is why I went with 308 for my stutzen, the 308 works better in a short barrel. I was concerned about recoil with the little K95 and while I do find the 6.5s more pleasant to shoot, the 308 is very nice also. I’ve fired a hundred rounds in a range session with no recoil fatigue or issues.

I find my 30/06 pleasant to shoot, I would have liked a 308win,but the 30/06 works surprisingly well in a 20" tube

Good to hear. 308 would be my next pick anywaystokesrj wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 4:50 pmI agree which is why I went with 308 for my stutzen, the 308 works better in a short barrel. I’m also in the same boat don’t need talking out of one, the caliber is the only question haha was set on a 6.5 creed but thinking I’d like a sambar legal round so will probably head down the 7x65r path

It will work with faster powder. I use a Heym with 19" barrel in 6,5x55. Dropps boars and fallows with no problems. Wouldnt hesitate to drop a moose either with it.
If you reach 750m/s at the muzzle with 156gr proper bullets it will handle anything up to moosesize within 200m without any problem.

So what we have determined with absolute certainty is this:
Erniep123 needs TWO K95s. A Stutzen in 308, and a Luxus in 6.5x55.

I just happen to have a 7x65R tube on order!.....fingers crossed I can contribute a nice Alpine Sambar to the 'What no one has pulled the trigger this month Get out there' thread before next season is over.I’m also in the same boat don’t need talking out of one, the caliber is the only question haha was set on a 6.5 creed but thinking I’d like a sambar legal round so will probably head down the 7x65r path
