K95 round barrel in Denver
I’m now the proud owner of a k95 Stutzen with octagonal barrel. I’ve read posts that I can make round barrels work with the forearm only but hoping I can find a k95 owner locally to see the forearm fitting myself before investing money into barrels that I’m not going to be happy with.
Any BB members in Colorado with a K95?
Also will begin searching for a few barrels at some point soon, so if you have k95 barrels your considering selling LMK!
Additionally if someone is interested in trading an 308 stutzen barrel for a 30-06, I’m interested.
Thanks!

Re: K95 round barrel fitting
Not sure what your asking, if you mean fitting it into an existing action that already has its own barrel, then if the new barrel is a little tight it's a 5min job to fit to an existing set up.
But if it's too loose then I'd definitely recommend sending it out to get fitted.

I'm soft and I don't care.

Re: K95 round barrel in Denver
I fitted my standard hornet barrel into my Stutzen forearm.
Fitting the barrel to the receiver is easy, it just takes a little light dressing with a file on the sides of the lug.
So as long as the octagonal barrel is the same or larger then the standard barrel it will fit.
What diameter is the octagonal barrel you have?

I’m not overly concerned about receiver fit. My interest was in the forearm inletting and the fit of the forearm to octagonal vs forearm to round barrel. Primary concern is the bottom front of the forearm where the barrel exits.

PM Bob Stokes and ask him to measure his octagonal K95 barrel across the flats and the points. That should let you work it out. Standard round is 17mm at the muzzle and I would expect the taper of the round and the octagonal to be the same.
Others may have an octagonal barrel but Bob is the only person here that I can think of.

Re: K95 round barrel in Denver
I don’t own a stutzen but I do interchange round and octagon barrels with a standard fore end. I included some photos that may be helpful. The fore end has a very easy to adjust set screw to adjust the “tension” if that makes sense.

Thank you, super helpful photos! Just put a posting up for a k95 hornet barrel, really, really doubtful it will bear fruit, but at least I know what I'll be looking at if it does.
