Been lurking on here for a little while now! Planning on buying a R8 Jaeger soon in 300 wby for a trip to South Africa next year! You all seem like a great and helpful community!

Welcome to the board. The R8 Jaeger is a really nice rifle and you can't go wrong with the 300 Wby. My favorite 300 btw... I have one with the silver receiver currently sporting the 204 Ruger barrel and a Carbon fiber stock. Nice light rig that shoots extremely well.

Have you booked the hunt yet and if so can you share the outfitter? Many of us have been there and if someone recognized the outfitter they might be able to give you a little more insight than the web pages do.

Going with limcroma safaris! Planning on going for a kudu impala warthog and gemsbok so far! I’ll be over there for 10 days so might add a couple more yet! If someone else has been there I’d love to hear your thoughts. I’m going with a close friend of mine that’s been over there twice already!
