And lucky for you, it wasent your time :shifty:

Sounds like a hard trip back, you need to get in better shape
Thanks Buddy, I was lucky that's for sure. Walk out was a slog no questions there and trying to move the stag on the side of a hill was no fun. But I train for it as its all part of it and you work hard for it. It does make it a little easier, but walking up local hills with a 30kg pack on is one thing, but its not the same as walking up them hill's with 50+kg of Sambar stag in your pack

You done extremely well to stop it from rolling down that steep face and to cape it out there.

Thanks Steve, it was hard yakka to cape out and to get the meat off him. I was fighting with 6 or 7 euros at one time, and I kepted flicking small bits of meat 10 yards away so they would move off. Tip of the week, if you haven't yet got a small folding saw, get one. When you can't physically get a good position to twist the head off, the saw works great. I was very lucky to be given a Helium knife off Rob Herbert from R&N Blades Australia a couple of years ago. It cape the whole stag out and cut meat off and my fingers  without been shapen. I did buy a second one off him last year and I'm glad I did for a spare. Not sure if I'll use it as he only made 15 of that design.

Man that drilled him! Looks like a hell of a rig👍
Do you have any vid of the rifle shooting, I'd love to see what sort of barrel rise you get with the brake.
I shoot a 7-08 mainly because I found years ago a 270wsm without any suppressor or brake was to much rifle for me.
A lot more time behind a rifle since then and some loading experience has me thinking about bigger gear lol

Here is a quick video before I had the brake fitted and cerakoted. Without the brake it tracks very well and with the brake it's even better. If you don't have a flinching issue, there's nothing like watching your target get hit and everything that happens after the shot. :handgestures-thumbup:

Well it took sometime but with the help of OSA and Safari firearms, I managed to get myself a new R93 ultra mag bolt head. I could only get it in gold but beggars can’t be choosers.

Thats actually pretty mild looking. You might have said already, but what does the rifle weigh?

I only found out it was gold last Wednesday when I got the call from Safari. They said you you don’t want gold we can sell it but it’s very unlikely we will find another one. I said I will take it. 😂😂😂
