The time has finally come. I can no longer buy the food for my R8 from grafs. It was too good to last I guess. $17.99 a box with a MPBR over 300 meters with 1/10 of an inch groups at 100 meters. If I cant get the same groups out of my rifle it will be like there was a death in the family.
I can get the 162grn sst's,
I have a couple hundred of the once fire brass,
I have a couple factory loads for COAL
The problem is that it was a hornady "customs" line of ammo and I cant buy the powder. Does anyone have experience replicating this powder? At least in performance terms anyway. I cant find much for reloading data on the Superformance powder which also shared the hornady stamp.

Re: Brenneke Reload
If you are talking about the excellent 7x64 Brenneke, in my experience there is no better powder than RL19 with heavy bullets.
My R8 7x64 absolutely loves it, and so does my brothers.
2861fps was not hard to achieve with no pressure signs in both rifles, and that was with 175 grain Woodleigh bullets.

Re: Brenneke Reload
Thanks guys. I was looking at RL19 or the IMR 4831. Depending on the bullet and book it looked like either one could be the most accurate. And yes, its the super fantastic cartridge 7x64

Re: Brenneke Reload
Usually the Hornady Custom line is not SuperFormance powder, it is usually one of the Hodgdon Extreme powders. For the 280 Remington, Hodgdon lists IMR7797 as the powder that produces the fastest muzzle velocity followed by Winchester Supreme 796 and then H1000.
The 280 Remington is essentially the same load data as the 7X64 but you can back off a grain or two just to be extra safe. Many people report using the same loads in both calibers with identical results. The case length of the 7X64 is .020" shorter than the 280.

Re: Brenneke Reload
I ran IMR 4831 in half grain increments from the bottom to half a grain over the 280 max and never got any signs of pressure. I got a couple .46" groups but the speeds were very inconsistent so the next batch will try the RL19.
