Colt Making Pythons Again

Post by Corjack »

New for 2020 two SS models of the Colt Python. Always wanted one, but did not want to pay a collector price. If I can talk Stokes into ordering one, I might copy cat him and get one as well.

Shame they didn't bring out a 2" version again, I like stub nose revolvers for some reason.

I've wondered over the years why they didn't bring it back. The prices that used ones were bringing were absurd. They were good guns but not worth what they were selling for. I carried a factory nickel Python for quite a few years when I first became a police officer. I had several back then with one being an engraved 2.5" barrel model that was a super accurate handgun. I quit carrying the Python after the stainless S&W Model 66 became available and then of course migrated to the 686 which was probably the best factory production revolver made. My 686s would shoot just as well as the Python. The Python was a classic though and now it looks like I might get the opportunity own one again. Cool find Ron. Appreciate your posting the news!

Trying to find a part of me that cared, but Colt broke my heart about 20 years ago when some British company bought them. They have been on the huge downhill slide since then.
