30R Blaser & 8X75RS
Anyone know anything about the 30R Blaser and the 8X75RS? They look like neat rounds for our combo guns and drillings.

The problem is in finding ammo.

Re: 30R Blaser & 8X75RS
Ammo is no problem if a guy is persistant. I found that several guys had purchased 30R Blaser Brass from the reloaders bench in Mt. Juliet Tn. I am not sure but 8X75 brass may be able to be formed from 9.3X74R. Still researching this.NE450No2 wrote:The problem is in finding ammo.

Re: 30R Blaser & 8X75RS
From what I'm told their are a couple of K95s in .30R Blaser being used for sambar in Victoria, a task that they perform admirably.
Never seen a 8x75RS or a rifle chambered for it In Australia - something I'm keen to change if I ever get a chance
Ammo for the .30R Blaser is made by both RWS & Blaser, whereas RUAG (who own RWS, Norma and a few others) allegedly make 8x75RS ammo with a 12.7gram (196g) Blaser CDP bullet at ~2750fps which Blaser package as their own and sell at >E100 per 20!
Both .30R Blaser & 8x75RS dies are listed by RCBS as "group G, special order dies" and funnily enough I just got this email from them today
Now given I sent this message, I think they dont sell many 8x75RS dies

Hi Brett, the 8x57 RS /.323 is part number 565370, shell holder #4.
These die list for $143.95. Be sure that you check the bore diameter.
Thank you,

The 8x75RS is a necked down 9.3x74R, so as long as one can get hold of the right dies you have at least 6 brands of 9.3x74R brass to attempt to neck down - the .30R Blaser has no parent round so if you cant get RWS brass or Blaser ammo, forget itTo whom it may concern
Do you still manufacture dies for the 8x75RS cartridge? If so could you
please provide me with an estimate of the RRP.
Thanks in advance.

For anyone keen, Blaser list the ballistics of their ammo here http://www.blaser.de/CDP-ballistic-data.745.0.html?&L=1

Re: 30R Blaser & 8X75RS
As posted elsewhere, I'm still keen on acquiring a 8x75RS even though I've yet to find any load data with powders commonly available in Australia
Meanwhile I've found that Horneber make factory brass
Listed as 8x75R on their own site http://www.huelsen-horneber.de/hliste_engl.html but 8x75RS on the Johannsen catalog http://www.johannsen-jagd.de/data_de/ka ... te119e.pdf
For anyone not in the know, Horneber is distributed in Australia by NSW gunsmith John Clapham

I've sent an email to contact.at.blaser.de to enquire if 8x75RS or 8.5x63R will be available as special order items in the D99 in the near future - no response thus far.
If forced down the .30 R Blaser path, which isn't really that bad , I'd seriously look at the Merkel 96 with 2 12/76 barrels
BTW found a load for the 8x75RS with an available powder - 68g of RL22 behind a 200g partition

I figured if Blaser dropped the 8,5X63R that Roe would squall like a cut monkey. Maybe he don't know yet?Gun Barrel Ecologist wrote:Dont knowCorjack wrote:fuzzy bunnies! Commercially loaded 8,5x63/R ammo coming soon. Til then, the 8,5x63 R is dropped.
So please wait for next caliber list...
