BBF97 Regulation

Post by Corjack »

I had not touched the regulation on my BBF97 since I got it. It was shooting the slugs about 3 inches low and 3 inches to the left @42 yards. The first thing I discovered was one of the screws was loose from the factory by about a turn and a half. I worked on the elevation first and went the wrong way after discovering witch way to operate it, in about twenty minutes I had the elevation and windage dot on. I could fire the 6.5 barrel and then take out the bullet hole with the slug. I did this three times in a row, I am extremely pleased with this. Another thing I had to do was move one of the adjusting screws to a different hole when I got it adjusted where I wanted it the head of the screw rubbed the inside of the forearm. There are five holes in the regulation collar and three screws so this is no big deal. each screw has a little lock screw so when it is regulated you can lock them down. The system is so easy to deal with, a hillbilly could do it! Will shoot the rifle 100 yards tommorow and then the rifle and shotgun barrel at 50 and will probably have to tweak it a little more.

That is good shooting, and regulating.

I have not taken a real close look at the regulation mechanism on my BBF.
When making adjustments I would assume that you are moving the rifle barrel zero toward the shotgun barrel zero. Is this correct?

Yes, that is correct. I was a little leary to start messing with it, but it is actually very simple.

I found the D99's regulation very easy. You have to stop every now and then and kind of work the problem in your head ( could just be me I'm an aggie), but its pretty straight foward.
